Hello!


I’m Will, a Birmingham-based writer, director and performer. I primarily work in the West Midlands and London. I’m the Artistic Director of Quick Duck Theatre, an award-winning Birmingham based theatre company, which was one of New Diorama Theatre's Emerging Theatre Companies of 2019/20.

I'm an Associate Artist of the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain and one of BBC Arts & Rural Media's New Creatives. I’ve worked as a Facilitator and Staff Director for organisations including the Birmingham REP, English Touring Opera, National Youth Theatre & Refugee Charity The Helen Bamber Foundation. I was also selected as one of Bush Theatre's six emerging writers of 2019/20.

 

I trained on the University of Birmingham’s Drama & Theatre arts course, the Birmingham REP Foundry Programme and studied clowning at L’École Phillipe Gaulier.

I’m always excited to work with new people and new projects. I’d love to hear from you if you need:

 

  • A Director with particular experience in comedy, ensemble work, new writing, interactive work and musicals or opera.

 

  • A Writer, Collaborator or Devisor

 

  • A Dramaturg or outside eye who can give feedback, research, adapt or edit to help shape and refine your work.

  • A Performer with a strong background in comedy, devising, improvisation and drag. 

 

  • An Assistant Director for medium to large scale work and/or touring productions.

 

  • A Facilitator or Teacher to run workshops in theatre, clowning and writing for performance.

 

Or anything else you think I could help with. Although I’m based in Birmingham, I'm happy to travel.
