Hello! I’m Will, a Birmingham-based writer, director and performer. I primarily work in the West Midlands and London.
You can next catch me on tour with my solo show Yours Sincerely which is touring throughout 2020. Check out the tour dates HERE!
I’m the Artistic Director of Quick Duck Theatre an award winning Birmingham based theatre company. Our work is ridiculous, openly queer, has a lot of heart and always has a killer soundtrack. It's part of New Diorama Theatre's 2019/20 cohort of Emerging Theatre Companies.
I trained on the University of Birmingham’s Drama & Theatre arts course, the Birmingham REP Foundry Programme and studied clowning at L’École Phillipe Gaulier.
Since then I’ve worked as a Facilitator and Assistant Director for organisations including the Birmingham REP, English Touring Opera & The Helen Bamber Foundation.
At the moment I’m under commission from BBC Arts and Rural Media as one of their New Creatives and from the Bush Theatre as one of their six emerging writers of 2019/20.
I’m always looking to work with new people and new projects. I’d love to hear from you if you’re in need of:
A Director with particular experience in comedy, ensemble work, new writing, interactive work and musicals / opera
A Writer or collaborator / devisor
A Dramaturg or outside eye who can give feedback, research, adapt, or edit to help shape and refine your work
A Performer with a strong background in comedy, devising and improvisation
An Assistant Director for medium to large scale work and / or touring productions
A Facilitator or Teacher to run workshops in theatre, clowning and writing for performance
Or anything else you think I could help with. Although I’m based in Brum I'm happy to travel. I have a railcard and I’m not afraid to use it.
